A family mediator in Guildford. My job is to keep the conversation fair, keep it moving, and help you both leave with something you can live with.
Why I do this
I'm a family mediator based in Guildford. I came to this work because I watched people I care about spend a year and most of their savings fighting in court over things they could have agreed in an afternoon with the right person in the room.
I'm in the final stage of my accreditation with the Family Mediation Council. In practice that means two things for you: every case I take on is supervised by [supervisor name], an accredited mediator with [X] years' experience, and you pay half the usual rate while I complete that process. Same process, same paperwork, closer attention.
I'm not a judge and I'm not a therapist. My job is to keep the conversation fair, keep it moving, and make sure both of you leave with something you can actually live with.

Even-handed, not neutral about fairness
I don't take sides, and I don't decide the outcome — you do. But I will make sure both of you get the same airtime, that neither of you is steamrollered, and that decisions are made with the full picture rather than half of it.
Structured, so it doesn't go in circles
We take one issue at a time and write down what's agreed as we go. Most people are surprised how much gets settled once the conversation has a shape.
What I'm not
I'm not your solicitor and I can't give either of you legal advice. I can give you both legal information, and I'll tell you when something needs advice before you agree to it.
I'm also not a counsellor. Separation is painful and that's welcome in the room, but the purpose of the session is to reach workable arrangements.

Married or not, together for decades or barely at all, whatever your background or family shape. Mediation works the same way.
Training and accreditation
Working towards full FMC accreditation. I trained with [course provider] and am building the supervised casework hours required for full accreditation with the Family Mediation Council. Until that's complete, [supervisor name] — an FMC-accredited mediator with [X] years' experience — supervises every case I take on.
